These solenoids are used in the transportation industry, automation engineering and materials handling.

Particular advantages are the individual mounting options, the maintenance-free armature bearing and its compact design.

The mode of operation of the solenoid is based on the force exerted on ferromagnetic bodies in the magnetic field. Electromagnets transform electric energy into mechanical kinetic energy.

Basically the stroke movement takes place from the stroke starting position to the stroke stop position (active direction of movement), while the armature reset is accomplished by external forces, e.g. by spring, weight or magnetic forces (passive direction of movement).

The solenoids can be installed in any position, but the force transfer should be in axial direction only.

Our solenoids of the Classic Line cover a stroke from 3mm to 30mm and a force range from 0.2N to 400N.

The power indicated is reached at 90% of the nominal voltage and in warmed up condition. The values apply for nominal voltage, warmed-up condition and load with 70% of the magnetic force of the device.

These solenoids are used wherever large forces, short duty cycles and high efficiency with small installation space are required.

They fulfil the special requirements when used in high voltage circuit breakers and railway door lockings as well as in general actuating functions in automation and medical engineering.

 

The mode of operation of the solenoid is based on the force exerted on ferromagnetic bodies in the magnetic field. Electromagnets transform electric energy into mechanical kinetic energy.

Basically the stroke movement takes place from the stroke starting position to the stroke stop position (active direction of movement), while the armature reset is accomplished by external forces, e.g. by spring, weight or magnetic forces (passive direction of movement). In this product line the reset can be performed optionally by an integrated reset spring.

In these actuating solenoids the force of an electromagnetic field is used to perform a longitudinal movement. The stroke limitation can be set by hand for every application.

The solenoids can be installed in any position, but the force transfer should be in axial direction only.

These solenoids are generally used as actuators, holding modules in conveying systems or for the switching of valves.

The mode of operation is based on the force exerted on ferromagnetic bodies in the magnetic field. Electromagnets transform electric energy into mechanical kinetic energy.

Basically the stroke movement takes place from the stroke starting position to the stroke stop position (active direction of movement), while the armature reset is accomplished by external forces, e.g. by spring, weight or magnetic forces (passive direction of movement).

The force transfer is to be performed by a non-magnetisable bolt. The solenoids can be installed in any position, but the force transfer should be in axial direction only.

elevator lineSingle-acting and double-acting spreader solenoids of the Kendrion Elevator Line excel by a short stroke and an extremely high magnetic force.

These spreader solenoids are particularly suitable for use in elevators and escalators as well as in industrial brakes for the lifting of block resp. drum brakes.

The mode of operation of the electromagnet is based on the force exerted on ferromagnetic bodies in the magnetic field. Electromagnets transform electric energy into mechanical kinetic energy.

The stroke movement is brought about by a single resp. double pushing action from the stroke starting position to the stroke stop position. The return movement is accomplished by a spring set (braking tongue) mounted by the customer.

The single-acting spreader solenoids can be installed in any position. The armature is embedded in two maintenance-free DU bushes and protected against external influences such as dust or humidity by the installation of radial sealing elements.

Depending on the force required the solenoids are suitable for normal excitation and overexcitation. When operated with overexcitation the spreader solenoids are overexcited by a high power during the actuating phase and then switched over to normal excitation. This results in high attracting forces during the stroke while at the same time the thermal load is reduced.

Our spreader solenoids of the Elevator Line cover a stroke from 4mm to 8mm (single-acting spreader solenoids) and 2x2mm to 2x6mm (double-acting spreader solenoids) as well as a force range from 190N to 7500N.

The magnetic forces indicated are reached at 90% of the nominal voltage and in warmed up condition. The values for the duty cycles are standard values and refer to the state given above at a load with 70% of the magnetic force of the device.

atex lineSolenoids of the Kendrion ATEX Line are designed for applications in explosive areas such as plant construction, refineries, oil entrepots or on oil platforms.

In order to achieve explosion protection significant measures preventing the occurrence of sparks, arcs and dangerous temperatures have been taken with these electromagnetic drive elements.

 

The mode of operation is based on the force exerted on ferromagnetic bodies. Electromagnets transform electric energy into mechanical kinetic energy.

Basically the stroke movement takes place from the stroke starting position to the stroke stop position (active direction of movement), while the armature reset is accomplished by external forces, e.g. by spring, weight or magnetic forces (passive direction of movement).

Our solenoids of the ATEX Line cover a stroke from 15mm to 60mm and a force range from 20N to 400N.

The solenoids can be installed in any position, but the force transfer should be in axial direction only.

All solenoids of this product line comply with the ignition protection type “e”. The explosion protection was approved for sizes 06 to 09 with the test certificate PTB 03 ATEX 2175 X and for sizes 10 to 20 with the test certificate PTB 04 ATEX 2009 X of the Federal Institute of Physics and Metrology (“Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt”, PTB) in Brunswick, Germany.

Suitable measures have to guarantee that the breaking overvoltages listed in the test certificate are not exceeded.

The electromagnetic products of Kendrion Magnettechnik are components for mounting and operation in electric equipment and devices. Therefore, they are not subject to the low voltage directive 73/23/EEC. The components comply with different norms for the mounting and operation in devices according to the low voltage directive, however, especially with the DIN VDE 0580/07.2000. The respective data are listed in the data sheets of the individual components.

According to the machine directive 98/37/EC the products are components which must not be put into operation as long as the conformity of the machine into which this component is being installed with the EC directives (EN 50014 and EN 50028) is not determined. We are happy to send you a manufacturer’s declaration of our products upon request. The user has to make to sure the EMC directive 89/336/EEC with respective switching devices resp. activations is observed.

locking lineSolenoids of the Kendrion Locking Line are locking units specially designed for use in safety devices of machines, automation mechanisms and in object security.

With these solenoids special attention has been paid to compact and sturdy design, universal mounting options and an integrated feedback of the locking function.

 

These electromagnetically actuated locking elements are used along with mechanical locks for the interlocking with feedback.

Depending on the requirement two types of solenoids are available:

 

1. Devices unlocked without voltage, where the reset of the locking bolt is accomplished by a spring.

2. Devices locked without voltage, where the reset of the locking bolt is accomplished by electromagnetic force.

Solenoid armatures and locking bolts are led separately in maintenance-free bearings. The locking bolt is manufactured out of non-corrosive and non-magnetic stainless steel.

The micro-switch which is directly integrated into the bolt housing signals the respective position of the locking bolt about 0.5mm to 1mm after leaving the stroke starting position resp. before reaching the stroke stop position.

Basically the stroke movement takes place from the stroke starting position to the stroke stop position (active direction of movement), while the armature reset is accomplished by a built-in spring force (passive direction of movement).

Our solenoids of the Locking Line cover a stroke from 8mm to 15mm and a lateral force from 1000N to 3000N.

system lineAC-solenoids of the Kendrion System Line allow for extremely fast duty cycles and very high attracting forces. These solenoids are often found in mechanical engineering and can be used in a wide range of applications, e.g. in switchgear engineering.

 

With this AC-solenoid system yoke and armature are available in laminated form. This design allows for fast tightening times and dynamic power.

Generally it must be made sure that the solenoid armature reaches its stroke stop position, i.e. after finishing the switch-on operation the pole face of the armature must lie on the pole face of the solenoid, the yoke. Please note that the AC-solenoid consumes a lot of power with open armature which can lead to excessive heating and finally a burning of the coil.

The stroke movement takes place from the stroke starting position to the stroke stop position (active direction of movement), while the armature reset is accomplished by external forces, e.g. by spring, weight or magnetic forces (passive direction of movement).

Our solenoids of the System Line cover strokes from 20mm to 50mm and a force range from 4N to 300N.

The magnetic force indicated is reached at 90% of the nominal voltage and in warmed up condition. The values of the duty cycles apply for nominal voltage, warmed-up condition and load with 70% of the magnetic force of the device.
